INVUE INSIDE: ANTI-THEFT CAMPAIGN

Case Study

SWIPER NO SWIPING

Showcasing the power of benefit denial technology

When our ongoing partner, InVue, came to us with their new anti-theft product InVue Inside, we were immediately pumped to get started. Not only is this product the only anti-theft solution that’s always on, always works, and blocks the ability to use stolen devices, but this project also posed a unique problem for us:

How do we create an explainer, demo, and product video all in one?

The answer was simple, but it required ongoing collaboration, a bit of imagination, and loads of creativity.

The vision

Clean, simple, interesting. That was the vision. We had to create a story that highlighted the product in a clear and concise way, without compromising on all of its many features. It needed to be crisp, clean, and telling of the quality of the InVue Inside product – without getting lost in the technological jargon that comes with high-end security devices.

The approach

While making the product look good was an important element of this project (and every project), we spent a lot of time with the InVue team to learn how the product actually works. This allowed out production team to have some insider knowledge on what we were working with and bring ideas and suggestions to the tables that added genuine value. From there, we created a storyboard and script in collaboration with their staff that touched on all key value propositions of the product and matched the tone of their brand.

“They are quick to identify a solution and work to create an amazing shot.”

— Tim Delong, InVue

The setup

Believe it or not, the shoot was completed all in one day. Each “actor” was a member of the InVue team, and the “storefront” was in the middle of their facility, which we lit intentionally to resemble a cellphone shop. The energy from that day was completely unforgettable — everyone (especially the employees) was excited to be there.

The shoot

What most may overlook about this video is its fluidity. To capture the forward progression detailed in our storyboard, we used our Steadicam. The Steadicam gave us the essential element of movement needed to showcase one of the key value propositions of the device – that the further the device gets from its hub, the more a device becomes locked down. Mapping out the blocking early on in the process ensure that we had the right tools for the job.

The result

In the end, our video — which was less than two minutes long (unlike your typical four-to-five-minute explainer video) — did exactly what it needed to do. It was short, sweet, and to the point, giving the end user a clear picture of the product, its capabilities, and how it would work in action – and settings things up nicely for the InVue sales reps to have a nice foundation to build on in their sales meetings.
