TTI NORTH AMERICA: RECRUITMENT CAMPAIGN

Case Study

Anything but typical

Not your mother’s recruitment campaign

Recruiting videos. We’ve all seen them. The “docu-style” interviews, the cheery music, the not-so-subtle promotion of company culture. They’re typical, expected, and in most cases, pretty boring, which is why we immediately jumped at the opportunity when our friends at TTI North America approached us about a different kind of recruitment campaign, specifically focused on attracting engineering talent.

Our teams collaborated from the get-go to create a video that was anything but average; a campaign that would not only set TTI apart from others in their field, but also attract skilled individuals outside of their reach who would say, “I want to do that everyday.”

From the top

Why fit in when you were born to stand out? Lame, we know.

Cheesy Tumblr quotes aside, this was the original problem to solve for this campaign. Plenty of companies film recruitment video campaigns, so creating something unique was a must. On top of that, the video had to resonate with engineers and demonstrate why TTI is a leading company in the engineering field. Fortunately, we were up for the task.

Our primary focus was to tell their story in their location. We set up on-site at TTI’s Charlotte office and toured to find the ideal filming locations. We wanted to highlight the variety of roles in their specific elements as well as showcase the diversity of their employees. During this time (and throughout the entirety of the process) we collaborated closely with the TTI team to generate, flush out, and bring their creative ideas to life.

Quiet on the set

After tons of brainstorming sessions (and even more cups of coffee) we decided on a cinematic approach with close attention to angles and lighting. Our goal was to place emphasis on the person — their role, their story — to bring focus to the skill sets that are required to do the job.

“Their motion graphics and color grading capabilities allowed us to be able to confidently hand off elements we normally keep in house. The reception for the final videos has been positive… their team initiates an effective workflow and executes each task flawlessly.”

— Rick Guile, TTI North America

Behind the scenes

We’ve gotta be honest… the complete takeover of TTI’s office was pretty fun. Our team thoroughly enjoyed the continued collaboration as well as the unique challenges of shooting inside of an office space. Picture moving desks, scooting chairs, and accidentally knocking over a trash can (or two).
