Digital Spark produced a three-part social video series for FootballCo, built around Walmart’s new role as MLS’s official match day partner and centered on Charlotte FC. Shot over two days with influencer Isaiah Reid: a fast-cut narrative piece on location, then live fan energy at the Charlotte FC vs. Nashville SC match.
The brief
FootballCo needed a three-part social video series for Walmart's new role as MLS's official match day partner, built around Charlotte FC, with soccer influencer Isaiah Reid (founder of Drip FC, Clemson alum, MLS draftee) as the face of it. Everything had to work inside strict brand rules for both Walmart and MLS, on a turnaround measured in weeks against a live flight date.
The approach
We split it into two very different shoot days. Day one built the narrative piece, "Match Day Made Easy," on location: a fast-cut comedic story of Isaiah realizing he needs gear before kickoff and using the Walmart app to get it delivered within the hour, shot in a fast-paced visual style built on whip pans and quick reveals. Day two moved live to the Charlotte FC vs. Nashville SC match, capturing real fan energy at Ladder Arcade and outside the stadium for "Charlotte Is Calling" and "Fandom Face Off," Isaiah hosting an unscripted debate between Charlotte and Nashville fans over kits, food, and city pride.
The result
FootballCo walked away with three social-ready videos built for Walmart's MLS sponsorship, delivered on an accelerated post schedule to hit their live flight date.
- 3social videos across two shoot days
- 106Kfollowers talent brings via his own platform, Drip FC
- 2days: one narrative shoot, one live at game day
Common questions
What was the Walmart x MLS "Match Day Made Easy" series?
A three-part social video series Digital Spark produced for FootballCo, built around Walmart's new role as MLS's official match day partner and centered on Charlotte FC. The lead piece, "Match Day Made Easy," follows influencer Isaiah Reid getting match-day ready with Walmart delivery; "Charlotte Is Calling" and "Fandom Face Off" capture real fan energy live at a Charlotte FC game.
Who is Isaiah Reid?
A soccer influencer and former college player at Clemson who reached the national championship before being drafted into MLS. He also founded Drip FC, a soccer-meets-fashion platform with over 100,000 followers, which made him a natural fit to front a brand campaign built around style and match-day culture.
Why was this shot in two completely different styles?
Because the three deliverables needed different things. "Match Day Made Easy" is a scripted, fast-cut narrative piece built for control and repeatable takes, shot on location the day before the game. "Charlotte Is Calling" and "Fandom Face Off" needed to feel live and unscripted, so those were shot the next day, in the middle of real fans at the actual Charlotte FC match.
